  • Position DescriptionIn this role, the Communication, Navigation, and Identification (CNI) Engineer (Air Worthiness Engineer) will:+ Provide specialized technical expertise for support of Light Attack Aircraft (LAA) avionic CNI systems which includes Controls and Displays, Communications, Navigation, Surveillance, Data Links, and Cabin Management Systems.+ Provide support for LAA avionics systems development, testing, integration, and certification efforts.+ Review applicable CNI OEM-delivered programmatic data (e.g., engineering drawings, performance specifications, hardware and software configuration documentation, interface control documents, and commercial item descriptions/specifications) to ensure that deliverables meet technical and programmatic requirements.+ Perform other CNI engineering activities as required.QualificationsTo be successful in this roll, you will need to have:+ Bachelor of Science Electrical or Computer Engineering Degree+ 5-7 years of experience.+ Secret ClearanceAdditional desired experience and skills:+ Familiarization to CNI related Military and Commercial Standards and Airworthiness Directives.+ Understanding of CNI Architectures and Interfaces such as MIL-STD-1553, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, ARINC-429 etc.+ Understanding of Interoperability of Communications Systems and Spectrum Management.+ Familiarization with Electromagnetic Environmental Effects airborne equipment standards MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-464, and applicable certification efforts for TEMPEST, Spectrum, and HERO.+ Familiarization of IFF selectable identification features/modes and AIMS certification efforts.+ Familiarization with Heads Up Display (HUD) Primary Flight Reference (PFR) certification efforts.+ Desirable CNI experience with military GPS, Link-16, and/or SATCOM subsystems.Company OverviewSerco Inc.
