    The Infotainment Embedded Software Developer - is responsible for creating software services for Ford's infotainment system. This includes code to support features for navigation, Radio, media, entertainment, phone, voice, and vehicle interfaces.

    What you'll be able to do:

    • Develop Embedded Android development with AOSP, HAL, GAS middleware for Ford's infotainment system

    • Design, document, integrate, and test APIs / SDKs that provide services for: media, phone, navigation, speech-recognition, mobile device connectivity, and CAN network communication

    • Leverage your in-depth understanding of the platform architecture to assess and participate in the technical design, feasibility, and planning process.

    • Research new trends / technologies in Android embedded development

    The minimum requirements we seek:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar scientific field of study

    • 3+ years of experience in software development on Embedded Android AOSP for automotive, embedded, mobile, or consumer electronic platforms

    • 1+ year(s) experience with developing software leveraging Agile concepts such as SCRUM, SAFe, or Kanban

    Our preferred requirements:

    • 4+ years of experience in software development on Embedded Android in the automotive industry

    • Proficiency of C/C++/Java/Kotlin language, GNU toolchain, and Unix: Embedded Android

    • 2+ years' experience with developing software leveraging Agile concepts

    • Experience with communication protocols: CAN, TCP/IP, USB, Bluetooth, and/or Wi-Fi

    • Proficiency with revision control including: git, subversion, or equivalent

    • Working knowledge and experience developing an infotainment feature technology, such as navigation, voice recognition, media phone, or a similar technology

    • Excellent project management skills, customer focus, as well as written and oral communication skills

    • Automotive product development process and quality experience (i.e., A-SPICE, FMEA, etc.)
